Electrical Engineering Department offers basic courses in subjects which are of utmost importance for keeping in Pace with the fast changing development in the discipline. Presently Peshawar College of Engineering is enrolling students in Electrical Engineering (Communication) with course topics as provided by the NWFP University of Engineering Technology, Peshawar. Till now (2010) eight batches of Electrical Engineering have rolled out and the result has been excellent as evident from the record. The passed out graduates are showing excellent performance in their respective fields.
Wapda is the biggest department in public sector of the country and employs a significant number if Electrical Power Engineers. NWFP has a quota of 11.5 percent in the power ring of Wapda and as per careful estimates about 100 power engineers are needed annually to be employed by Wapda for NWFP alone. Engineering degree awarding institutions in NWFP do not run courses in Electrical Power Engineering and thus, there is an acute shortage of Eleectrical Power Engineers, keeping this huge market demand in view, Peshawar College of Engineering would Insha Allah, embark upon adding this new subdiscipline of Power Engineering from this year to cater the needs of NWFP and its adjoining Tribal Areas, presently managed by PESCO and TESCO
