Rules & Regulations

PCE follow rules and regulations in vogue at the UET Peshawar. Any changes/amendments adopted by the UET from time to will, at the same time, become a part of rules and regulations of the college.

Eligibility And Procedure For Admission

i. Through the print media and internet, the Principal shall call applications for admission to Electrical Engineering and Computer Systems Engineering.

ii. Candidates must have passed and secured at least 60% marks in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Pre-Engineering Examination from a Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) in Pakistan or any other examination recognized by the UET as equivalent.

iii. Candidates having passed B.Tech (Pass) degree or a 3-year Post Matric Diploma of Associate Engineering in relevant Technology and secured at least 60% in Annual System or 65% in Semester System are also eligible. In case of doubtful academic qualification the case shall be referred to UET for guidance.
iv. Candidates having passed their Higher Secondary School Certificate(HSSC) exams in computer science and got 60% marks are eligible for applying in computer system engineering.
v. According to the Govt. of KPK

1) There shall be no passed marks for enterance test.
2) Appearing in enterance test (ETEA or any other public sector recognized engineering university of other provinces) will remain compulsory for admission to professional colleges working public as well as private sector.

Merit of eligible students shall be determined with the following weightage.

A) 50% weightage to Entry Test marks.

B) 40% weightage to the Intermediate (Pre-Engg) or an equivalent examination marks.

C) 10% weightage to SSC (Matriculation) marks.

vi. The candidates selected for admission shall submit the following original documents to the college at the time of admission:

a) SSC (Matric Certificate) with D.M.C.

b) HSSC (Intermediate Pre-Engg) with D.M.C or any other examination certificate on the basis of which the admission

is sought along with D.M.C.

c) Appearance Certificate from the concerned BISE.

d) Domicile certificate.

e) Entry Test passed Certificate from other than PCE entry test.

f) Hafiz-e-Quran Certificate (If claimed)

g) Medical Fitness Certificate.

h) Migration certificate from BISE.

i) Five attested passport size photographs.

j) CNIC (If any)

k) Undertaking on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 30/- attested by the Oath Commissioner.

l) Permission or leave certificate if employed by Govt./Statutory/Autonomous/Incorporated body or Firm or Organization.

vii.Conversion of Grades/Marks:

For certificates of examinations other than from Pakistan Board (BISEs), grades shall be converted into marks as under:

Grade A as 85%
Grade B as 75%
Grade C as 65%

Pakistani candidates having these certificates must also qualify Islamiyat, Pakistan Studies and Urdu at HSSC level.

vii. The Admission Committee shall consider all valid applications and process them according to the Rules and Regulations given here.

a) The selected candidates shall be called for interview by the Admission Committee and required to submit all College/University dues and complete other formalities for admission.

b) The committee shall send the provisionally selected candidates to the UET for registration within 60 days of admission. The admission shall not be deemed confirmed till the candidates have been registered by the UET.

c) If some seats remain vacant due to cancellation of admission or for some other reasons, the Principal may allow the same to be filled up within 15 days of the commencement of classes.

d) A candidate convicted by a Court of Law or awarded sentence in jail on the grounds of moral turpitude is ineligible for admission.

e) Discipline desired as first choice in the admission form shall be allotted strictly on merit basis.

ADMISSION FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS:

i) Foreign nationals shall submit their applications through Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs Govt. of Pakistan Islamabad, to the Principal of the college. Their admission shall be subject to the approval of their academic certificates as equivalent to the HSSC by the equivalence committee of the UET.

ii) Eligibility for admission shall be at least 60% aggregate marks in subject of English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

iii) The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad shall issue ID Cards for foreign students. After completion of their studies the card shall be returned to the HEC.

iv) Candidates possessing Tourist Visas shall not be considered for admission.

MIGRATION TO OTHER INSTITUTIONS:

i) Students migrating from the college must obtain n NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC) from the college on proper prescribed form.

ii) NOC shall not be issued to a student who has been punished by the Discipline Committee till the punishment remains enforced.

iii) NOC by the college shall only be issued if the student has cleared all his college and other outstanding dues.

MIGRATION FROM OTHER INSTITUTIONS:

I) A seat must be available in the discipline desired.

II) The applicants must be a bonafide student of an institution duly accredited and recognized by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).

III) The applicant must have secured 60% or more adjusted marks in F.Sc Pre-Engg (HSSC) or equivalent examination and qualified the Entry Test.

IV) NOC must be produced from the institution s/he has been attending along with Scheme of Studies and details of the syllabi s/he has completed to determine the equivalence. Must have clearly studied and passed all courses equivalent to the courses taught in earlier semester at the college with a minimum of CGPA of 2.00 with the exception of two courses. If migration is allowed the student must pass the deficient courses.

V)Migration shall be allowed within 10 days of the start of semester in the relevant discipline.

VI) Migration Fee shall be charged at the following rates:

a)Rs. Two Hundred Thousands Only 200,000/= in case of migration from institution abroad.

b)Rs. One Hundred Thousands Only 100,000/= in case of migration from within Pakistan.

c) These fees shall be in addition to the normal fees and other charges payable to the University/College as prescribed later.

d) No migration shall be allowed in first, second, seventh and eighth semester.

e)Final approval for migration shall have to be taken from the UET Peshawar.

RE-ADMISSION:

i) A student remaining absent from the classes for more than 30 days, without any intimation to the Principal of the College shall be struck off the rolls. He may be re-admitted by the Principal if the admission committee so recommends. Re-Admission fee shall be
Rs.5000/-

ii) If a student discontinues the course because of serious illness or any other genuine reason s/he may be re-admitted by the Principal on the recommendation of the Admission Committee provided that the time gap between leaving and re-admission is not more than two academic years. Re-admission shall be granted in the same semester in the following academic session.

iii) In all cases where these rules and regulations are silent the decision of the Principal shall be final.

iv) The College /UET authorities reserve the right to make any changes in the rules and regulations that may be considered necessary at anytime without any prior notice.

EXAMINATION RULES

Examinations:

Students will be evaluated through home assignments, quizzes, oral exams, class presentation, class projects, mid-term and final-term examinations. The weightage of each component will be announced by the teacher in the first class, provided that 50% of the total marks will be reserved for the final examination, 25% for the mid-tem examination and 25% for sessional evaluation.

There shall be no choice of questions in the examination papers.

Both the mid-term and the final-term examination shall be conducted by UET Peshawar.

Grading

Grading of students will be through letter grades, as defined in the following table:
